Andy Piper Cat Shack Reports Article
The Catshack Reports has just received some feedback courtesy of Andy Piper of Dark Sports, distributor for G.I Milsim Products located in the UK as follows:
We have just taken delivery of the FM50 field marker and the gravity feed loaders. I have had a 100 shot pot made especially for the 50 cal and a new pack, those should be here in a couple
of weeks, along with Micro’s and Nano’s.
We have touched base with a lot of fields in the UK and everyone likes the idea, especially the cost savings, less storage space and the ease of cleaning/ maintaining the gun and of course the less pain. Field operators we have met who are seeking to replace their markers have asked to try the guns out for a few games or a weekend. Yes we are looking at loaning some guns out for them to try and give us feedback on what they think and what the customer’s thought. So far no one has thrown us out on our ears and no one has been dead set against the idea. If anything the reception after the presentation has been very positive. I am sure your readers will find that hard to believe after some of things that have been written on the net, but it is the truth.
The dealers that have been set up in Europe already are keen to get the gun’s sent to them. One of the dealers did a presentation at a recent event in the Ukraine and they had the Impulse 50 and Micro 50, the feedback from her after the event was that everyone that shot the gun was very impressed with it, and there view changed once they had shot it. I personally did a presentation to about 30 field owners/ team players, after the presentation we went and shot the guns and everyone there said it gave them food for thought for the coming season, we also took some pre orders from the fields as well.
I have been shooting the gun for the last few months when I see customers, and the first time I shot it I was (like everyone else) skeptical about the whole concept, but once I got shot with it and shot it and worked out all the savings etc it makes so much sense for field owners to purchase the guns and for their customers to use the guns. Two of the biggest things we hear in the UK with regards to paintball is it is expensive and it hurts, well with 50 cal we have taken one of those elements away, it now hurts a lot less, the cost can be brought down if the field owner wishes to do that, that is their choice though we cannot force them to sell cheaper. With regards to Tournaments I think it will take longer to filter into them, teams will need to see teams win with 50 cal, once they see that they may have a change of heart and switch their guns out. But again it is teams/ players choice, no one is saying you have to buy all new kit today because 68 cal will stop tomorrow.
But so far here in Europe the feedback has been positive and the initial tests have been very positive.
